A leaf of the past that is so beautiful today

Niveditha | General | 10 November 2008, 11:15pm

It is often that long relationships and time bring about so much knowledge about people. Time does change a lot of things. I have been meaning to write a Book called "Trinkets and colours" but am never getting around doing it because of the "writer s block". It has been 8 years since i have met my pen friend and his family but i shall credit my brother in law (who does not remember referring) for referring FULLHYD.com. I always wanted to have pen friends because my mom used to have two. One lady was from China and another from back o beyond village. Well, the intension of registering with FULLHYD was because I was new to the city and this portal was supposed to give an insight to every nook and corner. It has to be considered a testimonial if this was said way back in 2001. It was launched near about the same time. I may not have benefited as much from a local standpoint (although they had plenty of information) as I had blanked out that I was living in hyderabad.
Now readers this name will keep popping in so many times in my writings because this family means so much. Jaideep, Sylvia, Randy, Rachel with new additions Laika and Lassie are a family.
While I know they have played an important role by being part of my life i enjoy being their cook and be the child of that family. What ever work i am associated has given a sense or fulfillment and like i am living my child hood all over again.
If i were to grow old and sitting with my grandchildren (which hopefully some day I would - biological or adopted) I am hoping it will be in company of someone who has the same spirit of living, passion for happiness and love for everything that is abundantly filled with love.
I want to thank FULL HYD, my brother in law for bringing this family into my life.
I can never dream of thanking them for bringing abundance in my life and letting me fly.

Freedom Writers - movie

Niveditha | General | 16 September 2008, 9:25pm

I know we all think that we have a lot of troubles, our life is more miserable than the rest of the world. I came across a movie called "Freedom Writers" and believe me you, I watched it twice in a span of one week.
Catching death at close quarters, losing family friends in shoot outs, lack of education, initiative or even believing CHANGE is possible - Belief makes all the difference. In self. In capability. In trying.

I guess we are all failures until we have tried. and all are winners who have tried.
Watch It. Be inspired.

Maybe you would start a blog of your own or a journal.

I have a past too

Niveditha | People | 30 May 2008, 1:46am

This story might be a wee bit funny to readers because it is quite filmy. This was in year 1987 – 88 when I first met who I have had changing relationship with. Classmate, Fellow Detective (although I don’t blame Enid Blyton), friend (maybe), family (somewhat), stranger (when she implements those mind blowing ideas), pen pal (when we keep in touch once in a blue moon), philosopher (none at all perhaps but I cant say for sure), guide (not really because both of us quite know our directions, or so we think every time) and the best part is yet to come. Perhaps when we both grow old after living our entire lives we will have enough about life to exchange notes. I say this because we are always doing entirely different things, living the opposite lifestyles, have amazingly opposite philosophies, and approach and for heavens sake I don’t know how we still get along with each other despite such poles apart natures.
We are always at cross roads and perhaps are the bet people to give each other a horrible feedback and yet get away with it. Her life is her own and my life is my own BUT when we meet – our life is unknown (to the world).
I don’t think there is a name to this and yet it exists. That is what is so beautiful about some people, relationships and life.

Writer of this script unknown to me..i am just sharing

Niveditha | People | 30 May 2008, 1:36am

I read these lines as they were stuck to a bill board and they certainly made a difference to me. they echoed my thoughts.

Standing for what you believe in,Regardless of odds against you,And the pressure that tears at your resistance,… means COURAGE Keeping a smile on your face,For the sake of supporting others,When inside you feel like dying,…means STRENGTH Stopping at nothing,And doing what is in your heart,Because you know it is right,… means DETERMINATION Doing more than is expected,To make another’s life a little more bearable,Without uttering a single complaint,… means COMPASSION  Helping a friend in need,No matter the time or effort,To the best of your ability,… means LOYALTY Giving more than you have,And expecting nothing,But nothing in return… means SELFLESSNESS When life seems to fall apart at your feet,Facing each day with the knowledgeThat life will bring you better tomorrows,And never giving up… means CONFIDENCE Holding your head high,And being the best you can be Knowing you are GOD s CHILD… means FAITH

Colourful

Niveditha | People | 30 May 2008, 1:35am

Every individual dreams of a bright future and usually imagines a lot of colours. There are several stages each of us travels through and knowingly or unknowingly, life is filled with colours. Bright moments, dull ones – colourful, black and white.

We learn a lot from our parents, family, friends, society and the environment based on our experiences. As we grow we are taught values, most of us are continuously exposed to what not to do, how not to be bad and then about definitions of the other side. In this process we do get a lot of information given to be absorbed but there is no check or balance to see if the same has been absorbed or not.

Life is beautiful. There is so much good and bad. One thing that every individual will be happy living their life is when they wrap their life with all colours and enjoy every one of them with the fullness it has to bring.
No dish can be made with one ingredient.
No feeling can be expressed with one word.
No realization happens in one day.
No day is full with one hour.
When such is the way of the world why don’t we all sit back and think for a few moments.
What is that mindset of people, to think other people’s lives are colourful and bright? It has more than what you can have in your life. Colours exist in everyone‘s lives. We just don’t use them properly.

It is the same story of the bad carpenter blaming the tools.

What ever crosses our path has an intention and a direction. It is in us to set or change direction. One way there is destiny waiting, another way is just walking towards a destiny while reading the signs left everywhere.

Final destination is same for everyone but it is the journey that makes the trip beautiful. Live life to the fullest – and this is just my opinion, you don’t have to be carried away with it or believe it is the truth; it is my experience of truth.

Adopt your child

Niveditha | Reality Bites Philosophy | 30 May 2008, 1:22am

It might look like a dream or ideals personified but a simple thing, a thought has become an idea. With population explosion there are many families and many children. Crime and dissillusionment are partners in crime. Couples with no children or no scope for children may still be parents of a parentless child. I did not chose the word "orphan" because it looks like a hopeless word. A child new born and left to face life even when it does not know survival needs a home. Single child parents, opting for adoption, only when they can be generously open minded, can bring a lot of happiness into the life of their biological child as well as the adopted. Children growing with siblings are prone to be sharing and caring. Upbringing too has its role.
I have something else to say here. I know one man who has adopted a child for her life time and yet she stays with her biological parents. I dont have to say this is a "girl child".
Families who nurture babies until they are born (thanks to certain laws against scanning for gender revealation) have no qualms to leave the child homeless knowing its a GIRL.
I am no feminist. a child is a child. An innocent smile easy to bind a human in tight knots of love. YET, with a lot of exposure to the world and its ways people imagine they are forced to be people they are and have become thick skinnes to a tender smile.
Bonding is such a difficult thing, even when everyone is stranger, even when known.
..... all because wordsworth said ..... there is no time to stand and stare.... even to know self.

This is something i wanted to write..Is it something you wanted to read

Niveditha | Travel and Leisure | 27 May 2008, 8:25pm

People cross paths with each other - there is a reason, maybe not too (but we would like to think so). Have you wondered why? We would like to feel good that we have done something good or give a reason for something bad that happened ... Just imagine i might just be sued for copyrights that i copied lines from U Me Aur Hum... the thing is i was thinking about the rushes of the movie when I started to write something here. In the rushes Ajay Devgan recites some bautiful lines or the other and says " I read them somewhere". Kajol always replies " someone may have written them"

They are such beautiful lines that I am longing to see the hillarous pair back on screen together. Bad Luck, My ankle is in plaster and still many days to go before i can run and stretch my feet in a movie theatre. So all i can do is dream. Of Kajol. Of Ajay. Of the lines. Of the rushes. And dont blame me or sue me for unknowingly those lines slipped up as title.
I dont mind changing them, but if i have to write the very same feeling please suggest something not written before and I will be ok with it.

OK As usual i start somewhere and end somewhere because my thougths run faster and feeling fly. People - Try and write your own. Be Inspired. And People - who inspire others, never feel too bad about your thoughts being written by others.... its ok.
I should feel Bad when Kal Ho Na Ho released, but i was happy someone made a story and had the very same thoughts i had and he had the money and patience to make it. Mohabattein was even wilder repeat. Tanuja Chandra gave a shock when she introduced Akshay Kumar the very same way he deserved to be introduced and i imagined. I love her for it. By the way this is an ADVT on her behalf - go watch her new movie... HOPE ANd A LITTLE SUGAR.. I want to.
If such wonderful thoughts belong to you there will be more born within and there is no derth for feelings or words although they look alike. (At the same time Dont copy and steal thoughts).

I said what i had to say, now you think what you have to and be happy

Obaid - Artist, Painter...

Niveditha | Art and Crafts | 27 May 2008, 7:43pm

I met a man called Obaid today. He is a painter by profession and passion. I had requested to send someone who could frame my paintings and help me with more material. I was told he was a painter. And what an artist by heart mashah allah!
I dont know much about him but there seemed to be a passion for art that could stir or inspire whoever persuing anything to continue doing so.
His story i am sharing without his consent but quite inspiring for anyone.
This man started his career as an artist and made it his profession after his tenth standard. He was at crossroads then - his dad wanted him to pursue an acadamic career, he wanted to continue painting which was his passion. Although filmy THERE was a BET, A DEAL.
He had to earn Rs. 10,000 in a month before he was going to be let free. He painted i wont mention whose imitation but he DID. When asked about the opinion, his dad shared none because he wanted his son to deal with it on his own.
He went to meet a lady and sell his painting. A lady he had met many years ago while gifting many of his work to make it his profession. When he quoted the amount he was asked to come back and meet her husband. He left the painting in her care and returned home.
The next day he was happy when he got half the amount in cash and the remaining in cheque. He rushed home to his dad and give him the money.
His dad in return only said this, "The money is not for me son, it is for you to start your career. You are free".
He has a sister for a sibling and she is a painter too. His paintings are available at Chaumela Palace, his friends gather together to exhibit their work.
Perhaps there are very few of us who follow our passion the way he did. Perhaps there are few parents who let their children follow their hearts. Everyone has to survive on their own.
We all can give protection for a while, but freedom is a call no one can sit quiet about. Freedom is also a responsibility no one can turn their back on.
This is a story of courage, understanding, passion, freedom, compassion, encouragement, belief and most importantly love.
Thank you Obaid for sharing your story.

Think Tank

Niveditha | Reality Bites Philosophy | 27 May 2008, 7:25pm

We never think we can think in a way we think unless we begin to think the way we never thought.... written by me just now. hmmm Not bad.

Somewhere i guess the thoughts or quotes by important people come out of situations and their version of beliefs.

Dont want to go too deep into thought and disect this but this should be part where reality bites philosophy
